about southlake orthopaedics

At Southlake Orthopaedics, you can trust us to provide personalized and compassionate care for every patient, utilizing the most advanced medical technology available. We specialize in the field of orthopaedics, an area of medical practice that focuses on the musculoskeletal system which provides form, support, stability, and movement to your body.

Although in the United States, this medical specialty is commonly spelled “orthopedics,” Southlake Orthopaedics chooses to follow the formal spelling favored by universities and medical residency programs. We just happen to think it’s the best way to spell what we do.

When we see you about an orthopaedic condition, it will most likely involve one or more parts of your musculoskeletal system: bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other connective tissues that support and bind tissues and organs together.

These parts of your body are quite complex, and can be injured while playing sports, on the job, or through some traumatic event like a fall or car accident. These events can result in fractures, dislocation, sprains and strains, and quite a bit of pain. Our goal is to get these injuries healed quickly so you can get back to your regular routine.

Other times, there isn’t an injury per se, but rather a degenerative condition like arthritis, or some other disease or syndrome that brings about inflammation, deformity, nerve damage, and along with it, pain. Our goal is to diagnose your problem correctly, and help you determine the best path toward pain-free mobility.

At Southlake Orthopaedics, we see patients across all ages and stages of life. From children and adolescents to adults and seniors, you can rely on our experts no matter how young or old you are. We are here to provide you with complete treatment for diverse orthopaedic needs.

OUR POLICIES

Southlake Orthopaedics accepts most insurance health plans. Insurance claims are filed for all services rendered. Patients are requested to be familiar with their respective insurance plans and associated patient responsibilities (co-payments, deductible, authorizations). We will do our best to answer questions as they relate to your case and coverage. Fees are ultimately the responsibility of the patient, and are in accord with medical fees throughout the Birmingham area. We also accept patients with Workers’ Compensation claims.

We strive to see all patients as close to their scheduled appointment time as possible; however, there are times when emergencies must be worked into the day and delays may occur. When we see a delay may be extreme, our office will likely call and ask you to reschedule so that we can help you avoid the frustration of a long wait in the reception area.
